Taking the lead in this major project from the start in 2008 until 2016 has been one of the greatest pleasures of my working life with countless international events and collaborations such as “Wängl Tängl“, “Hotzone Groms Open“, “Oakley Jib Vid“, “Snowbombing“, and many more.
Building brand awareness of Mayrhofen as one of the leading “youth-culture” ski resorts required numerous shootings and coordination with the locale as a tourist destination in conjunction with presenting Vans as an action sports company internationally known for snowboard boots and equipment. We had several board meetings with the tourist department of Zillertal, Tirol Tourismus, the local mayor, and the Mayrhofner Bergbahnen Corporation to fulfill various targets. All in all, it was an extremely complex project with a lot of stakeholders to please.
The park still exists, although Vans has recently ceded its sponsorship responsibilities.
